Donald Trump was back on Twitter Monday night to address potential conflicts surrounding his business empire — just hours after his transition team canceled a scheduled press conference focusing on those concerns.
“Even though I am not mandated by law to do so, I will be leaving my busineses [sic] before January 20th so that I can focus full time on the presidency,”Trump tweeted.
“Two of my children, Don and Eric, plus executives, will manage them. No new deals will be done during my term(s) in office.”
A name noticeably absent from Trump’s tweet was that of daughter Ivanka, who is currently executive vice president of the Trump Organization.
She moving to DC and is expected to take on a role in the new administration.
Earlier Monday night, Trump’s team canceled a press conference slated for Thursday at which he was to address the business matters.
He is involved in more than 500 companies with $3.6 billion in assets.
